Last night on my talk show, Event Central, I talked about event lighting. I promised to post some examples of some basic lighting terms. Here they are as promised!
Gobo - Circular stencils that are put over light to project a design or pattern
Remember the more intricate that your gobo design is, the more expensive it will be.
Color Wash - A blanket of colored light covering an entire area
Pin Spot - A focused beam of light that shines directly onto an object, like a centerpiece or wedding cake, as a highlight effect.
Uplighting - Focused lighting on walls or other architecture

Important tip: Be careful when choosing a color to use for lighting. Remember green is not always flattering for guests or attendees.
